Helmsley is full of brilliant independent shops, cafés, restaurants, and creative businesses.

Indie Helmsley is a new community group set up to bring us all together, showcase what makes our town unique, and give independents a stronger voice.

Supporting Our Town’s Independents

What we’ll do together:

A garden with blooming flowers in the foreground and a greenhouse, trees, and a church tower in the background on a bright, partly cloudy day.

Promote

Promote members on Instagram (@IndieHelmsley) with business spotlights and campaigns.

Stone house with a red tile roof, small windows, and a wooden gate, beside a stone wall, with the ruins of an ancient stone building in the background.

Direct

Build a local directory of independents (online, and later as a printed map).

A stone sign with the word 'Helmsley' on it, surrounded by plants and flowers, with trees and a fence in the background.

Network

Create a network for businesses to share ideas, collaborate, and support each other.

A winding country road lined with red flowering bushes and a stone wall, with a thatched-roof cottage and another stone house in the background under cloudy skies.

Events

Run seasonal promotions and events to bring more people into town.
